Simon Gott

​Simon has over 15 years of experience practising in the field of adult and organisational learning, leadership and development across the sectors and across the globe - in the UK, Europe, the Middle-East and Asia. He is a former Director of OD programmes at Roffey Park.

​

Simon helps clients to get clarity on what matters most to them, their teams and their organisations. He is super observant and this enables him to ask the tough questions with kindness and compassion. Clients appreciate his ability to maintain a focus on serious work, with a light touch and good-humoured approach.

Background

After leaving school he joined the Armed Forces where he trained and worked for 4 years in logistics during which he spent 4 months in the USA on exercise attached to the US Marines Corps. He returned to Education aged 25 and went to University to study for a BA in History and Politics before moving into full time work at William Hill Organisation as a Training & Development Officer. He went on to set up and manage an L&D team in the Electronic Gaming industry before moving into OD & Leadership internal consultancy for the NHS. Simon then joined Roffey Park Institute and soon became Director of OD Practitioner programmes whilst also gaining a rich and broad range of experiences running many leadership programmes and providing consultancy to organisations large and small. He left to set up his own consultancy business in 2016, but remains an Associate of Roffey Park.

 

Experience and expertise

With over 15 years of experience practising in the field of adult and organisational learning, leadership and development – he brings and is able to share a wealth of knowledge and insight from a wide range of organisational systems and cultures from the private, public and third sector.
 

His client experience is extensive and wide-ranging and involves providing coaching, facilitation and development for executives, senior leaders and junior management in organisations including; NHS, UK Civil Service, Jaguar Land Rover, BAM, Sainsbury’s, OFCOM, Guide Dogs and many others across sectors such as Housing, Manufacturing, Research, Social Care, Renewable Energy, Financial Services and numerous Universities. In addition to a broad range of UK clients, he has also worked internationally in Singapore, United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, Denmark and Germany.


Simon has boundless enthusiasm for his work and his clients’ cause. He cares deeply about helping and encouraging people to focus on what really matters to them so that they become happier and more effective at work and at home. He balances a serious focus on the work with a light touch ensuring that the most important issues are never ducked. He does this through sharing good humoured and honest observations on a human to human level as he believes that strong, honest relationships form the foundations of effectiveness.

A bit more about Simon...

Simon lives in North Yorkshire with his wife Linsey and two children Isabelle & Maxwell. He is a trustee of a homeless charity and coach of his local junior football team. He enjoys gardening, running and watching his beloved Leeds United.
